Galette Love

Made this lovely galette for brunch with friends this weekend, and in my haste, forgot to take a photo when it was done! It was beautiful and yummy.

Find the recipe here.

I tried to make mine lower fat by cutting the butter to 1/3c and increasing the yogurt to 1/3 cup. I used my homemade yogurt and since it was a little on the runny side, didn't add any water.

Put all the ingredients in the food processor.

Pulse until it looks like a coarse meal.

I spread on some homemade pesto.

Added roasted red peppers and mozzarella.

Bake and enjoy!

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Fairy Skirts

Celebrate the Boy is starting next week and I can't wait!!! A whole month of boy related posts. So I figured this was a good time to sneak in a girly post. I whipped up some super easy and super fast fairy skirts. The trick was using my serger to do a rolled hem on the bottom.

We have some friends coming over this weekend who we don't see too often, and sometimes my little 4 year old can be a little shy.

I think these fairy skirts might help. As I write this, she's making paper wands for the other girls.
Have a great weekend!

I'm an Official Backpack Seller!

I'm so excited to announce that I just purchased my license to sell Made by Rae's Toddler Backpacks! I made a few for my kids as travel packs for our trip to Florida, and I'm hooked. I've got my supplies, I just need some time to actually make some.

Here's the one pack I've made so far, with some old IKEA fabric I had in my stash. I really like the contrasting red piping. Should be listed in my shop soon.

I made my packs smaller than Rae's original pattern because.....well, to be honest, my printer scaled it the first time and it came out smaller. But when I went back and printed the full size, I went back to the smaller pattern because I thought it worked better on my 2 and 4 year old.

So, if you're in need of a toddler or preschool backpack and don't want to buy the pattern and make your own.....check back soon!

Have a great week!
