KCWC is such a great motivator to sit down and make clothes for the kids. But, sometimes I find it overwhelming. The other night I was paralyzed with indecision and ended up getting frustrated and doing nothing. I did catch up on Project Runway, so that's something.
After a night off, I regained my motivation and threw together this shirt.
FABRIC: 2 repurposed T-shirtsPATTERN: self drafted using an existing shirt, Rae's Skinny Tee pattern and Hey June's Greenpoint Cardigan Pattern.
RESULT: a perfect fit and he loves it. He was even excited about the elbow patches.
Have a great weekend!
Sometimes I have the same problem with motivating myself to get sewing projects done. If i have a deadline, I usually get my mojo back the night before the deadline...go figure.
ReplyDeletewow, this is a great mash up! I love that my pattern is even tenuously linked to something Rae did :) good idea - it looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the overwhelming-ness of all that KCWC inspiration. I had a plan which was totally thrown out this week when I saw all the wonderfulness that everyone else was completing. I think unless you spend way more than 1 hour a day or you are working exclusively with knits and a serger (which I've yet to purchase), it's very hard to complete one project a day. I think your attitude was the best way to go.
ReplyDeleteThis is cute - it reminds me of mini-Boden!
