Welcome! I’m Ruby — mom, scientist, and creator of Zaaberry.
Zaaberry is a creative blog where I share sewing tutorials, upcycling projects, and patterns you can actually use. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned maker, you’ll find approachable ideas and inspiration you can follow along with in your own projects.
I started this blog out of a love for family, creativity, and making things by hand. The name Zaaberry comes from my daughter running out to the raspberry patch, yelling “zaaberries!” — a reminder of joy, curiosity, and playful creativity that inspires everything I do here.
By day, I work in science and higher education, and by night you’ll find me at my sewing machine, notebook in hand, tackling my next project. Through this blog, I share what I learn, help readers avoid common mistakes, and provide practical guidance for projects you’ll love to make.
